Tennessee District Achievements & Awards

Throughout the year clubs earn points for many different achievements. The categories for these achievements are:
Service, Club Reports, Membership, District and International meetings, Community Projects Awards (CPA) Completion, New Club Building, Attendance, Youth Clubs, Zone meetings, Optimist International Foundation (OIF), Childhood Cancer and District categories (Inner club visit, bulletin, website, club display, Optimist golf, Essay contest, Oratorical contest, Communication contest for Deaf & Hard of Hearing -CCDHH, District training, scrapbook ).

Below is a list of awards that clubs can earn each year.

Sunshine Welch Membership Award
Awarded annually to the Optimist in the TN District who sponsors the largest number of new members during the year, as reported on Club Roster Adjustment Forms. The Award consists of a plaque given to the recipient at the Annual Awards Banquet in February 2006. His/her name will also be engraved on the plaque held by the District with the names of previous winners.

 

Frederick E. Anderson Memorial Bulletin Award
Awarded annually to the club publishing the best overall bulletin. The decision will be made by a panel appointed by the governor (not to include Optimist members). A plaque will be presented to the club at the Annual Awards Banquet in February 2006. The club named will also be added to the Anderson plaque held by the District.

 

Club Bulletin and Scrapbook Divisions
Clubs in the District will be divided into 3 divisions based upon membership as of October 1.
   Division 1: Less than 35 members
  Division 2: 35 members or more
  Division 3: New clubs built between October 1, 2004 and September 30, 2005

 

Club Bulletin Award
An award will be presented to the club in each of the 3 divisions judged to have the best bulletin in their division, with judging by the same panel selected for the Anderson Memorial Award. These awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Banquet in February.

 

Scrapbook Award
An award will be presented to the club in each of the 3 divisions judged to have the best scrapbook in their division. The decision will be made by a panel appointed by the Governor (panel will not include Optimist members). These awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Banquet in February.

 

Outstanding Club Award
A plaque will be presented to the club earning the most points in the District Achievements and Awards program. This award will be presented at the Annual Awards Banquet in February.

 

Outstanding District Lieutenant Governor's Award
A plaque will be presented to the Lieutenant Governor of the zone earning the most points in the District Achievements and Awards programs. This ward will be presented at the Annual Awards Banquet in February.

 

Lieutenant Governor 100% Award
An award will be presented to the Lieutenant Governor who has 100% of his/her clubs represented at any of the District Quarterly Meetings. This award will be presented at the Annual Awards Banquet in February.  

 

Lieutenant Governor Attendance Award
An award will be presented to the Lieutenant Governor who has the largest percentage of clubs represented at each of the District Quarterly meetings, to be presented at each quarterly meeting.

 

Club Attendance Award
An award will be presented to the club that has the highest percentage of members registered and in attendance at each of the District Quarterly meetings. It will be presented at each quarterly meeting.

 

Club Travelers Award
An award will be presented to the club that has the highest number of traveled miles at each of the District Quarterly Meetings. Formula will be based on the distance from Home Club to meeting site, times the number of members registered and in attendance. The award will be presented at each quarterly meeting.

 

Hall of Fame Award
This award recognizes an individual's contributions to the district during their membership.
